Sudbury's Very First Trivia Night Fundraiser

We did it! Saint Louis Sudbury School staff, students, volunteers, board members, parents, community partners, friends, and family gathered on March 14, 2026 to play trivia and to raise funds for Sudbury! We raised (net) nearly $5,800 for Sudbury.

Saint Louis Sudbury School staff member and Board President Jennifer and Sudbury student Veda welcomed everyone at the start of the evening. This is what they shared!

”Welcome to Saint Louis Sudbury School’s very first Trivia Night! And happy 314 Day! My name is Veda, I’m a student at Sudbury, and my name is Jennifer Lin, I’m a staff member and Board President of Sudbury. Together with all-star staff member Bobby Skaggs, our wonderful Sudbury students, board, volunteers, donors, community partners, and amazing Trivia Host, Jake, we are so excited to see all of you here tonight at Intersect Arts Center’s beautiful space.

Thank you for gathering to play trivia, to celebrate the vibrant connections among people that Sudbury fosters, and to raise much needed funds for Saint Louis Sudbury School’s Tuition Assistance Program and general operating fund.

Sudbury is committed to making our unique educational experience of Self-Directed Education in a democratically-run and mixed ages learning community, accessible to as many families as possible.

We have purposefully set our tuition to be less than half the cost of other private schools in our region; we offer needs based Tuition Assistance when we can; and we work with scholarship foundations to try and make the Sudbury experience financially possible for those who are a good fit and are committed to being a member of our school community.

Our annual operating budget is incredibly lean. It’s less than $140,000 a year which is only possible because of Intersect Arts Center’s generous support, deeply committed and talented staff who are largely undercompensated, our incredible volunteers who come into school weekly to support student activities, parents who step up and help each other in all the ways, and the kindness and visionary spirit of our guest teaching artists, community partners, and donors like you.

Have fun this evening, be sure to bid on the great experiences, items, and services donated by Sudbury families and St. Louis creatives in the silent auction, and meet some pretty amazing people in the room tonight. And… in case you don’t know much about Saint Louis Sudbury School yet, let’s watch a brief video about Sudbury and why people who visit our school often say, ‘I wish I had gone to a school like this when I was young.’

Thanks everyone for being here and for being you.”
